Artwork to Landscape: Turn Your Favorite Art into a Garden

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin with a garden design. In this class, we’ll draw inspiration from art! Participants will transform a favorite artwork into a garden design, exploring how the structure, composition and movement of a piece can be translated into form within the landscape. We’ll also discuss how to recreate the colors of a painting through a thoughtfully curated plant palette. By the end of the class, you’ll have a landscape plan with the potential to be installed in your own garden. Come be inspired by art—and create a living work of art in your landscape.

Notes to participants: Bring a printout of both a site plan or google earth image of their property or garden space and a printout of their favorite painting/artwork. You may email a copy to gardenseducation@fcgov.com to print.
