Listen to the hypnotic sounds of fluttering while you explore our tropical oasis. Surrounded by nectar-rich plants, this lush garden offers butterflies places to feed, rest, and bask—while giving you a close-up view of their beauty.

Admission to The Gardens on Spring Creek includes entry into our Butterfly House. When you arrive, please check in at Guest Services to reserve your entry time. Timed entry to the Butterfly House is scheduled approximately every 15 minutes, with the last entry 30 minutes before closing (subject to change for evening events).

Butterfly House Features:

  • 400–600 free-flying North American butterflies and moths

  • A chrysalis window; watch butterflies emerge from their chrysalises 

  • Caterpillar displays, offering a deeper understanding of the complete life cycle

  • A 220-square-foot living wall with 2,200 annuals, ferns and foliage plants that provide roosting space for butterflies and moths

  • More than 100 varieties of tropical plants, specifically curated for our pollinator friends

  • Interpretation and education provided by staff and volunteers


The Butterfly House is a year-round home to hundreds of North American butterflies and dozens of varieties of flowering plants, built and operated in partnership with the Butterfly Pavilion

Please Note:
Denver's Butterfly Pavilion is the first standalone, Association of Zoos and Aquariums–accredited non-profit invertebrate zoo. While The Gardens on Spring Creek enjoys a partnership with the Butterfly Pavilion, our organizations are separate.
